A dead-end company with cheap management - Financial Advisor Investment Professionals Employee Review

Pros

An opportunity to offer some Alternatives, yet the only real viable Alt was a healthcare REIT by CNL which is no longer available. Who wants to put their clients into warehouse, hospitality or industrial REITS. What a waste.

Cons

IPI is run by leadership that is in place to serve themselves and not customers. Financial Advisors are strongly urged to push high commission, low liquidity, higher risk products and there are few innovative, creative, conservative investments to choose from for bank clients. Also FA's are forced to go outside of the bank to find customers in most situations, yet the bank still receives their 1/3rd cut and IPI receives their 1/3rd cut. Why join a bank-based broker dealer if the bank gets to partake in all of your deals outside the bank? What a bunch of shysters!

Pros

As an adviser, you can see how Management listened to the reps in the field to make their job easier! the new Technology Package, Products, National Conference venue, Satisfaction Surveys, Training, ease of On Boarding and Conversions have all been greatly improved to help the adviser transition to IPI. The most important aspect of IPI is their "family" "Good-To-Great" mentality and values. You are not a number or just another producing rep., and now they have a new business model that has Regional Directors in the field. You get much more direction, coaching and reporting for the banks and advisers than before. THEY LISTEN AND CHANGE for the better based upon our feedback!

Cons

Small firm but sound financially and professionally. Wouldn't think about going to a large broker/dealer.
