Pros

The supervisors in Museum Services were very fair and understanding and fair when I told them of any situation that occurred during the workplace. They always acknowledged my good work.

Cons

Coworkers on the same ranking as me did not take their jobs seriously. They gossip as if it is high school despite supervisors giving stern warnings. Security department is highly undisciplined. They make sexual comments towards female coworkers and guests and act as if they are immune to discipline and Human Resources is very unprofessional. They only take the word of corrupt security guards and then they deny it and refuse to hear the side of the alleged individuals.

Pros

It’s overall a great environment to work in. The intern programs they run is organized neatly in a timeframe that covers a series of topics you will learn with other interns and collaborate with. They do critique all interns based on how they contribute to group panel discussions, attendance and assigned work. Being outgoing/social will also determine your level of engagement since it’s a fundamental part of the program. More opportunities are given to you if you show how much you’ve contributed, like award recognitions so try your best! They also aren’t harsh at all, will always accommodate to your needs if you communicate with them. Overall the projects they run is a great experience especially if you are in high school. You will have the chance to meet other fellow high school students that are interns and can learn more about each others future careers, or goals. Everyone is supportive and happy to answer your questions/concerns!

Cons

There’s not many cons I’ve experienced other than a lot of waking to get to one place to another which can be time consuming and physically exhausting especially if you’re going to work during the summer. It can also get crowded at times, except during the mornings since it is a museum after all. For food options, you do get a discount if you are an intern or employee working there but it can still be pricey. I recommend bringing your own lunch and snack during break time.
