Internet Travel Solutions Response
4yThank you for your feedback. These are very serious comments and we want to work to solve them swiftly. As an organization, we value direct input and would like to hear from each of our employees to help improve our culture.
As you note, with the pandemic and our work-from-home culture, many of our newer employees never have had a chance to work side-by-side with our experienced team members to learn and interact as a collaborative group. This collaboration, which largely comes about from peer learning and co-location, is sorely missed and we hope to get everyone together again soon, if only for 2 to 3 days a week.
Your coding practices comments are alarming. Perhaps you left the organization before we implemented "certification program" sponsorship paths, our current peer review processes, company paid training, and our increased usage and implementation of new technologies including Lambda functions, exploration of Kubernetes and alternate containers and advanced architecture changes. We completely agree with you that focus on technology growth and capabilities for all of our developers to expand their skill sets and be exposed to innovative approaches is critical and has been a major focus of the ITS organization for the past 6 months.
In short, we wish you were still with us to help us improve. ITS needs critical thinkers and doers and those who can help make us better, not those who suppress ideas or innovation or complain without helping to fix our culture. Most aspects of our organization have changed over the past 9 months (sorry you may have missed these upgrades) and we can only point to the future as we continue to transform our culture and our relationship with our programmers.
