Great tradition but stuck in the 80s. - SOX/Internal Audit Manager International Employee Review

Pros

Some business functions have a good attitude and are really striving for success... The engineers and manufacturing functions are giving it their all, however is it too little too late? The company is very proactive and ahead of its time with respect to employee health. Accomplishments have been made in creating/expanding footprints in Brazil and China. Like many others, the company is moving headlong into natural gas.

Cons

Serious cost structure issues and product quality issues are two challenges no manufacturer ever wants to face simultaneously. All the while, those that need to tackle the cost issues are themselves a part of the problem. A 1980s mindset in 2012. The current executive management is bound for gallows, with what I fear to be a new regime that will specialize in short order reorganization and cost cutting... Alternatively, if the stock price goes too low, Navistar might end up being a heck of a bargain due to it's dealer network, and distribution and manufacturing capacities. The military business unit is done for the time being.
