Pros

They tend to bring in very smart, fun, and passionate people; I really enjoyed working with the majority of the people there, with a few very important exceptions. Benefits are mostly good, office is very attractive and in a convenient location in DC.

Cons

Your experience will probably depend on what team you're on. A couple of observations from working there over a long period of time: "start up culture" tends to actually mean "overtime and lack of work/life balance are rewarded"; "inappropriate/‘locker room’ communication style"; "team building often revolves around heavy drinking"; etc. Some clique-y behavior and politics exist behind the scenes. Several of the men in authority positions, including the CEO, can be very thoughtless and inappropriate with their language with a blatant lack of consequences. I used to really love working there but my experience as a female employee degraded over time and ultimately led to my departure. Your mileage may vary depending on your tolerance for such things. Pay is also not really competitive in my experience -- they seem to push the culture as being more important than pay.

Interfolio Response

Thank you for your feedback and your candor. At Interfolio, we have taken great strides to demonstrate our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace as well as equitable treatment of all employees. For example, we have created a Women in Technology group as a resource to our female staff providing opportunities both internally and externally for support, engagement and growth. We provide sexual harassment training, and additional training regarding appropriate behaviors in the workplace. Moreover, we convene career reviews of all staff and leadership twice annually to provide consistent coaching and feedback associated with managing one’s professional career - regularly providing feedback relating to one’s contributions to our organizational objectives and values, departmental objectives, and professional growth objectives. Additionally, we have a female EEO officer and more than half of our leadership team are women. While no company can be perfect, and issues may arise – I absolutely believe that Interfolio has a strong scaffolding in place to ensure a fun, enjoyable, equitable and productive environment with great opportunities for growth and learning. We do not tolerate nor condone harassment, bias or insensitivity of any kind. As you can see in our organizational values, we strive for equity, diversity, peer review & critique, challenging the status quo, radical transparency and service to the community. To the extent we fall down on any of these, we learn, iterate and strive to improve. I am sorry that we let you down. Tess Frazier - EEO Officer

Pros

I have a great time at Interfolio. For the most part it's been a friendly environment. Decent and stress free. Very Organized.

Cons

Salary. The pay could be better for the industry and what we do. This year we did not receive a bonus. Also since the Elsevier merge, it's been different.

Pros

Love my coworkers & culture. Bit more corporate since the acquisition by Elsevier

Cons

Big corporate influence has added beauracracy that makes it harder to get things across the finish line
