Electronic Security Company with Great Benefits - Lead Field Technician Interface Systems Employee Review

Pros

Benefits are better than the last company I worked at (ADT). I make more money here as a Field Tech, than I did as a Field Manager at ADT. Onboarding, benefits, and pay were key reasons I chose this company over the other 2 finalists in my job search. Manager doesn't micromanage - he trusts me to do my job. The work is fulfilling and challenging. Internal Tech Support (2nd level) is very helpful and knowledgeable.

Cons

Technicians can have LONG drives - 2-3 hour radius from your home. 1st level Tech Support in Philippines can take a long time to resolve issues. Centrally run national business can bring the issues you'd expect, like departmental disconnects.

Thanks for sharing this and for the work you do in the field. We’re glad the benefits, pay, and onboarding have been positive compared with your prior experience. We also hear you on the long drive times and Tier-1 support delays. We’re continuing to tighten territory planning and dispatching to reduce windshield time, and we’re improving escalation paths so technicians get faster, higher-quality support. Please keep the feedback coming to your manager or the People Team—your input helps us make the field experience better.

Pros

1. The front line workers are fantastic. Most are willing to go above and beyond to get the job done, and pitch in when things go wrong (as they often did). 2. Many jobs can be done remote, which is great for families and employees 3. Health care was very good and low cost for employees

Cons

1. There was an incredible amount of micro-managing 2. Metrics consumed a good part of your day, but rarely added much value 3. Project managers viewed as glorified administrators, and were often the scape goat when things went wrong.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you had a positive experience with your coworkers, benefits, and remote work flexibility. We’re sorry to hear other parts of your experience did not meet expectations. Your comments around process, communication, metrics, and support for project managers are valuable and will be shared with the appropriate leadership teams for review.
