Pros
IDI is a small growing company and so there is a demanding workload. However, those who can keep up and are flexible to the company's needs are recognised and rewarded. The structure is quite flat, with only directors, managers and everyone else, so there is not the traditional hierarchical structures. Opportunities to take on new responsibilities and be involved in additional projects allowed me to develop new skills and knowledge to add to enrich my CV. The company are known for taking on young graduates, building up their skills to enable them to move on to bigger and better things. The company suits staff that are self-starters, who take initiative and fit with the company competencies ie working well as a team. The company directors are transparent about their strategy and also company goals, such as not meeting targets. Unfortunately, failure to meet recruitment targets does impact on all members of staff and the company's ability to provide salary increases but, for example, they have given extra holidays.
Cons
Workload is demanding and often tiring but I also think it was challenging and interesting. There was some turn over of staff while I was there, a number of those were individuals looking to progress, rather than those who did not meet company competencies. Although I thought it was good to have lots of young graduates to work with, I also felt that because it was sometimes their first 'real job' they had unrealistic expectations and did not appreciate what a pleasant environment it was to work in. I most definitely realise this after moving to my new job.
Pros
You receive responsibilities and experience out with your job role and this has helped me hugely in building up skills and knowledge which other employers have found very valuable. You have the opportunity to raise ideas which are actually considered, and if worthwhile are implemented, by management. In previous jobs this was would never happen. You feel you are helping to shape the company due to your involvement. Hard workers will be rewarded. You are kept informed on company as well as team matters. Management will go out of their way to support you at improving yourself. You have the opportunity to seek additional training.
Cons
I have read the other reviews and they do not reflect the company I knew. Part of the reason for me leaving this review. IDI is a small company so there is little to no room for passengers. While there were dismissals during my time there, each was explained to us and I never felt insecure in my job. You have to have the right attitude to succeed.
