Pros

I tend to be on the introvert side. In my career I always felt I needed to hide or downplay this fact. For the first time in my professional life I was at a workplace where this personallity was actually appreciated and sought after. I always hated the socializing part of my work during long meeting or lunch breaks. But since work here is being done remotely, this was no longer an issue. I could get up in the morning and be working minutes later while still wearing my pyjamas. I have no doubt I would have been working there today if it was not because my accident forced me to quit

Cons

I remember that my first month at IDF was a bit stressful. Suddenly becoming a member of an organization with a high performance culture was overwhelming. I got used to it, but it took some time before I became acclimated, considering the lazy management style that I gotten used to in my previous job.

It’s quite interesting for you to mention being introverted. In my opinion, many people in the IxDF can be characterized as being introverts or geeky in nature :-) We hold introverts in high regard - just as we do with extroverts. Everyone has superpowers.

Pros

The Interaction Design Foundation has a fantastic culture that is among the best I've seen at the companies I’ve worked for. Everyone really cares about their colleagues and especially the students who have entrusted their education to us. I feel privileged to educate the designers of tomorrow. I work with students from all over the world, and that helps me reinforce my belief that design is truly a cross-cultural and universal matter.

Cons

Language can present a challenge when working with students who aren’t proficient in English.

Pros

None. This is not a good place to work.

Cons

CEO thinks he’s a software engineer, but he jack squat about actual engineering. This is a terrible place to work and management has completely misaligned priorities.
