Broken Promises and Toxic Culture - Network Operations Center Engineer InterVision Systems Employee Review

Pros

- work/life balance is fair. - knowledgeable and friendly teammates - fair salary for direct hires to Intervision (if you are part of a buyout or merger, this is a different story) - training and certification opportunities

Cons

- If you have a disability, are a caretaker or provider for a dependent, mental or physical illness or life outside of work that demands your time and concentration, beware. Management will tell you they will work with you, support you, learn about your limitations, promise to provide accomodations and then break this promise. Room to improve and grow is offered and just as easily taken away. You will be expected to never make a mistake, and if you do, you will be punished instead of guided, coached and improvement plans made. Engineers are just a head count, not individuals with real concerns and needs, even though you will be told otherwise.

Pros

All hands calls and company updates happen more regularly and management seem to be a lot more aligned to what the company can actually do rather than what they want the employees to do. Also town halls are helpful to air questions and get answers on the spot.

Cons

Sometimes being all remote can be somewhat isolating and there is a loss in collaboration. Wish we can get together more often to work in person.

Pros

Most peers were helpful and friendly. Pay is average.

Cons

Owned by private equity firm when I worked there, may be better now that it has been bought by another company.
