Pros

You'll improve your writing and editing skills, sharpen your language skills, and learn about a variety of industries and countries.

Cons

In my opinion, the company culture at this place is toxic. You are overworked for little pay and expected to work weekends without additional benefits. If you bring your concerns to management, you are treated like a criminal and accused of putting yourself and your co-workers ahead of the good of the company. Leadership tends to micro-manage every single employee to the point of timing breaks and approving what social media posts can be liked. The turnover is high and there seems to be very little stability. Management strings its employees along with empty promises and talks of expansion that never seem to materialize.

Pros

Solid training program, rewarding mentorship program, welcoming towards new team members, performance is valued and rewarded, great compensation and benefits, hybrid work environment - 3 days in office, 2 days work from home, extended periods of work from home during the summer and end of year holidays. There are endless opportunities for involvement with management through office projects. The management team makes a lot of effort to give the team a rounded experience by using the skill set of team members in marketing, account management, project management, technology and leadership. The 401K is really generous.

Cons

Deadline driven environment, can be stressful. Some of the work can be repetitive. It's a small business so some of the perks are great but a lot of my peers have more than this company offers.

Pros

Much of this role is what you would want in a research job: significant responsibility, interesting projects, and supportive, globally-minded coworkers. You consistently get work in your language and region of interest, which keeps the work engaging

Cons

Management fosters a culture that prioritizes control over trust, with little respect for employees as professionals. This only comes from a few individuals near the top, yet there are absolutely no meaningful checks against the imposition of this culture. The company relies on monitoring and reporting software that track employee activity, which are frequently used to shift responsibility onto staff instead of addressing unrealistic workloads. Working at this company is treated by management as an enormous privilege. Consistent quality work is not recognized, yet every mistake is never forgotten. There is constant turnover through departures and firings as a result of this culture, and the company has been losing employees at a significantly higher rate than it has been hiring new employees. This has only meant more work for the remaining employees with zero recognition from management of the increased burden on each of us.
