Pros
IDS is an innovator in our industry, which is providing government customers with customized ID solutions. IDS offers positions in finance, program management, acquisition support, various technical positions, such as database administrators and developers and corporate positions in contracts, accounting, etc.. Because of the wide variety of opportunities available employees don't have to feel stagnant. I have seen many employees take the opportunity to move to a new position/learn a new skill. IDS works to promote from within whenever possible. IDS also offers a great benefits package and competitive salaries. Although the company is growing they still work to maintain a small business culture and feel. As a single mother this company has always afforded me a great work/life balance and although I work hard I never feel like I have had to miss important events in my children's lives.
Cons
The biggest concern for employees is that much of the work IDS does is as a government contractor, and contracts end or are re-competed. This can leave employees with concerns with stability. However IDS has many employees that have worked here for 15+ years.
