Pros
IDT/Danaher has affordable health plans and they tend to be generous with EOY bonuses. Most management there is thoughtful, hard-working, and will bend over backwards to help their associates.
Cons
The shareholders are the first and only concern of executive management. When we need more labor, their first approach is to throw more free exempt salaried hours at the tasks. 13 hour days by managers are not uncommon. The vision we had under private ownership is gone. San Diego was never meant to have the margins of our home office, but it was treated as such under short-sighted new ownership. As a result, associates do the work of 1.2+ people, and we lose many good associates before they can really get invested in the company. There is a lack of discretion among some members of management which makes sharing confidential information a risky task, as it will filter down to some entry level associates. Danaher's version of lean management is taken to a religious level. Lean tools are to work hand in hand with judgment. Not suffocate it.
