Pros
The pay is low to average, which for the Hartford area - is sadly a positive. They have employee events occasionally and have free coffee, tea, and snacks. Some smart people work there.
Cons
HR is unethical and will literally tell you anything to get you in the door. There's a reason for that. Don't believe anything they tell you. They will not stand by their word. Management is mostly awful, fearful of the Board, often angry, and not in anyway interested in you as anything other than a box checker. They do not want your opinion and very often punish outside the box thinking and innovation. There was a lot of unethical management and HR stuff that made me want to get out of there, which I did. There are a lot of people that have been there forever and they have to shine whether they merit it or not. Competence isn't anywhere near as valued at Insurity as how long you have been there and who you know on the Org chart. "The tallest blade of grass is the first to be cut" is sadly often true here. Layoffs once to twice a year. The bonus is an insult and will just demotivate you - if you even get one. Save yourself the frustration and don't work here.
