Pros
Insurance Express is a place where you go to receive a crash course of sales experience within the insurance industry. They give you the opportunity to work with so many carriers that you learn the market quickly. They don't discriminate, all walks of life work there. Since it's a call center the attire is casual, which is comfortable.
Cons
The company simply doesn't care about you. They never raise your wage because you're expendable. They'll hire anyone with a 440 or 220 off the street because they know there's always someone who will work with the $12 or $13 hourly wage and $20 per bound policy commission. I personally was working with high end homes and commercial trucking accounts and it was frustrating to close deals worth of $5k - $10k and only receive $20. While other agencies pay their sales agents half if what they earn. There is also no room to grow. They do promote from within but it's highly based of favoritism. The company is essentially a bucket shop for insurance. Due to the lack of vetting they do for the agents, a lot of them commit unethical practices, including binding policies with really low replacement costs, or not reading the policies questionnaire to the customer prior to binding. Some have also edited inspection reports into their favor to get a sale.
