Pros
- a great product that will really have a positive impact on society - can help some of the most financially vulnerable people in our society avoid the debt trap. - really cutting-edge technology and tools, with a commitment to building things the right way, not just the easiest/quickest/cheapest way - a team of friendly, fun, good people who really care about and believe in what we're doing - completely flexible work hours and conditions - as long as you get your work done and attend all scheduled meetings, as a developer nobody cares where you physically are or what specific hours of the day you decide to work - still a small enough company that there are no layers of bureaucracy, no strictly defined roles or rules... if there's something you really want to do, a new role you want to take on, there's nothing stopping you, suggest it to management and more likely than not they'll say "sure, let's do it!"
Cons
- perhaps unavoidable in such early days of a startup, but everyone's sort of working ALL the time... it can be hard to fully switch off or disconnect from work, there's a kind of unspoken expectation that everyone is online and at the very least monitoring Slack at all times of the day, 7 days a week
