Pros

1. Sometimes you can work from home 2. The management used to be very helpful and encouraging back in 2016

Cons

1. You will be forced to use your own laptop (you will find out on the 1st day that you 'should've brought your laptop') 2. No organisation within the company, nobody knows what each department is involved in. Sometimes 3 people will be doing the same thing (complete waste of time) 3. Forced to use IT slang which only developers use and understand 4. They will not pay you the money you agreed on in your contract 5. They will not provide you with a reference 6. You will be encouraged to compete with other team members which does not make the place friendly or people kind 7. The internet is slow, sometimes no internet for a whole day 8. You won't be measured against your KPIs 9. Zero communication 10. The company tries to be just like the competitiors without having any of their own ideas 11. Procedures change almost every day, complete lack of organisation 12. You will be asked to do mock-ups of your idead for the development team but nobody is going to implement anything because thera are only 5 developers who are forever busy 13. When there is an IT crisis, you will not get any help from the IT crew 14. The CEO will yell at you if the procedures change although you have no influence on them whatsoever

InstaSupply Response

Thank you for your comments. While I understand your experience working at InstaSupply in 2016 was good, I am sorry that in 2017 the company made the decision to end your employment based upon specific reasons that you were not happy with. Here are my comments regarding the issues you have raised: 1. Company Laptops - We provide ALL employees the right equipment to do their respective jobs. Specifically, in your case for customer support, you were issued a Lenovo laptop. The only instances where staff are able to use their own laptop over a company issued one is when they specifically chose to do this (typically because they prefer a higher spec) or they are a temporary contractor. 2. Job Title and Department - everyone’s job title, department, and line manager is clearly stated within their employment contract. Also, department meetings happen consistently every week. Because of this, there should never be any confusion. 3. Company Terminology - InstaSupply is a technology business, so many technical terms are used. 4. Pay - we take this very seriously and pay everyone according to the terms of their contract. 5. Providing a Reference - we always provide references when asked. But as a policy, we do not provide recommendations for staff dismissed when the reason relates to attendance and conduct. 6. Internal Competition - unaware of what this refers to. 7. Internet - indeed there was a brief period when the company relocated to a new office where the internet setup was delayed due to forces out of our control. However, we made provisions for staff to work remotely during this period and provided alternative ways to temporarily connect using 4G routers. 8. KPIs - everyone has KPIs and it forms the basis of our regular performance review process. In addition to KPIs, we also take into consideration elements such as attendance. 9. Communication - InstaSupply has face-to-face company wide meetings every Monday where everyone has an opportunity to be heard. We also use real time communication tools such as Slack whereby constant communication happens daily. InstaSupply also conducts daily stand-ups where every employee and contractor openly submits what they worked on yesterday, what they are working on today, and if there are any blockers. 10. Competition - we recognize the need to be aware of the business landscape to ensure we always differentiating ourselves. Knowing who are competitors are, and what they do well and do not do well is good business practice. 11. Company Procedures - we are always seeking better ways to serve our customers more effectively and employ staff who thrive in this type of environment. 12. Mock-Ups - while we value employee input, it is also the case that whilst recommendations may be made by customer support, they do not define product direction, roadmap, or vision of the company. 13. IT Crisis - It is difficult to know to what you are referring with the term IT Crisis as there is a difference between an IT support team and a software development team. 14. Yelling - we work in an open plan as there have been absolutely zero reports of yelling. We genuinely wish you the best in your future employment.

Pros

* Small and agile team of people * Working on improving customer experience, and give them a better level of experience than they've ever had before * Get to define the process for purchase improvement, free from any large enterprise straitjackets * Seeing an immediate customer response when new features are released and improved

Cons

* We don't have regimented roles, where people can be told at every step what to do and how to do it. So we struggle to retain staff who expect us to have large company characteristics this early on in our life-time.
