Pros

30 Years under its belt, Insperity carries clout in the PEO space. Publically traded and known in the space, it eases "slightly" the entrance to prospects and initial conversations. They offer superb training and coaching so you will prospect as a true consultant which is valuable in this role as well as future roles in your career. They provide a $450 monthly allowance on a company card allowing you to cover gas, entertainment, car wear and tear, tolls, personal meals etc. Good group of people willing to work with you, partner and mentor you as needed. Team atmosphere allows for a good working environment.

Cons

Lower base salary over other PEO's by $5k-$7K annual on average. Their commission model does not pay you a nice rip upon the sale; however, you do earn monthly payments for as long as the client remains a client which is rare in this space but again, your big commissions will be hard to get compared to other PEO's. They lack sales technology such as SalesForce, LinkedIn Premium, lead programs such as InfoUSA, ZoomInfo, or Hoovers. Many managers micro-manage but if you can focus on your appointment numbers and hit those, you will be given a little more freedom to do what is needed while you build your pipeline. I personally have found certain offices to be slightly "clicky" but there are more good people overall so maybe this will not impact you.

Pros

Good benefits. Can't think of any other.

Cons

Poor pay, the lowest paying company in the PEO industry. District Managers are awful, the ones I had. Regional Manager is less than supportive and more interested in micromangement. In my office, there is lack of support from District Manager and Regional Manager. I have witnessed first hand in a few areas District managers going on ride alongs, helping BPAs target businesses. It's an HR company that preaches work culture, but does not practice what it preaches. Turnover is higher than they like to admit, due to the nature of the job and appalling pay structure. Wear and tear of personal vehicle- you're not reimbursed mileage, or given vehicle allowance. You get an Amex card with less than $400 monthly, that is meant to cover gas (even with the current has prices), oil change, lunches, networking events. The amount itself is a joke, usually you run out of funds after the first week or 2 of each month and you're formed to use your own funds. Regional manager blamed entire team for people that got laid off, afterwards threatened people's jobs. When investors wanted more money, there were massive layoffs. Some staff were promised roles within the company, but of course they didn't keep their end of the bargain. I was given the most useless RM and DM. When I was hired, my district manager told a few lies and tricked me into accepting the position.
