Cons
Much more is expected of you then just flying a drone for photos. There is a good deal of paperwork and a lot of scheduling and rescheduling with policyholders. On average, each assignment takes 3 to 4 hours to complete, taking into account travel, onsite inspection, and report preparation for submission. You are paid a fixed amount. Drone pilots are penalized for not completing an assignment on time. The pay does not match the work involved and you are not compensated for all the driving. After assessing all costs, you barely make anything.
Cons - Inconsistent workload, uncompensated travel, a lot of paperwork, a lot of scheduling appointments, dealing with angry customers and neighbors. People don't like to see drones flying around in their neighborhoods.
