Pros

Innovative Composites is a solid employer. The company is on a respectable growth trajectory, and the team is foucused on succeeding together. There were constant new technical challenges to target as an engineer - and I saw immediate impacts to product quality based on my actions. There is no bureaucracy to cut through, and management focus is on building/improving systems. Everyone is invested in the group's success, and we worked together democratically to exceed goals every day. The scale is approachable enough that I wore several hats, and really honed my engineering skills and developed cross-functional leadership skills as a result.

Cons

It was a pretty consistent challenge, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. New programs were frequently being started, and customer requirements expanded scope regularly. This put pressure on the team to stretch, and this could lead to loggerheads between teams. I did note a substantial improvement in cross-group problem solving during my time, and I believe the company is maturing into a period of sustainable growth without overtaxing its workforce.

Pros

The work is genuinely interesting, with a lot of hands-on involvement and some very cool projects. Leadership puts real effort into matching people’s strengths with the right opportunities and building teams that actually work well together. Under the new GM, the company is clearly evolving. There’s a strong push toward better operations, improved efficiency, smarter focus on the best product lines, and a more intentional approach to valuing employees. Communication is transparent and direct, which is refreshing. Overall, it’s a fun place to work with momentum in the right direction.

Cons

Like any growing company, there’s still change underway, so not everything is fully dialed in yet. That said, the direction is clear and improving.
