Pros
- A few really smart and good people - Fair comp for amount of benchtime / real work you have to do (tradeoff being skills learnt)
Cons
- Weak pipeline. Extremely top heavy - unsure what partners are paid for if they can't get project - Apprentice learning model is more like self induced osmosis - Emailed the CEO about a 'me too' sexual harassment experience / case to escalate but no response at all. CEO acts friendly and attempts to be 'accessible' to junior folks but only cares about numbers - Talent quality is declining for two reasons: (1) Attempt to 'diversify' the talent pool by recruiting outside East Coast ivies appears more like a masked outcome of being unable to secure quality candidates in comparison to other MBB firms (2) Extremely lenient on underperforming folks especially on manager level - bottoms-up feedback not taken seriously
