Pros

The entire team is conscientious, diligent, professional, dedicated and congenial. Everyone pulls their weight, which is both rare and necessary in such a small company. You will meet a true superhero in every staff member.

Cons

There is almost no work-life balance. Inman is total grind culture that starts before 8 am and goes until well after 5 daily. Working stretches of 10-12 hour days is common, and the expectation is that you will just accept it; they will even go as far as to passively threaten your job if you attempt to advocate for your needs outside of work. Additionally, you must have an incredibly high tolerance for ambiguity, as that is frequently all you will receive for direction when leading a project. The company will burn you out. If you want to feel fulfilled by, successful in, and valued for the work you are doing, look elsewhere; there is no shortage of options.

Pros

Employees at Inman are hardworking, professional, and very team-oriented. There is a culture of camaraderie to make the reader and event attendee experience the best that it can be. There is a lot of opportunity to bring creative ideas and suggestions into your role. Brainstorming and strategizing on how we can innovate and improve is always encouraged. Having the opportunity to work with the best and brightest in the real estate industry.

Cons

Workload can feel a little hectic in the weeks leading up to a big event, which is to be expected in any industry at any company. Leadership acknowledges this and gives employees a chance to recuperate which is appreciated. Remote work can be challenging at times. It's always good to see team members in-person at the events.

Pros

Flexibility with schedule, collaboration between writers and editors despite being remote, enjoy reporting on real estate industry

Cons

Don’t feel as connected to other teams at company, would like more opportunities to cover industry events in-person, and it would be nice to have an annual stipend that enables employees to get extra training/education for their role
