Pros
Working with adults with developmental disabilities is a joy and life giving. This has been the best job ive had so far, and ive worked many different jobs.
The injoy work culture brings out the best in most, and the atmosphere is very supportive. Coworkers(most) are easy to get along with do to this culture and it brings out the best in people.
You can grow tremendously as a person if you allow yourself to learn daily, and roll with the punches
Cons
Full time positions are limited.
Management can be a bit mysterious and draws confusion the longer you work there (the inner workings of who gets raises, who gets hired to full time coaches, supervisors)
No benefits for coaches (part time obviously)
Not a lot of money for the work you do, but personally, the work itself is rewarding
Burnout is a very real thing, so be aware of your limits and take time off if needed.
