Pros

- Office is relatively near the MRT making it convenient to travel around.

Cons

- Toxic working environment with traditional inefficient mindset of "staying on late at work = best employee". - Expects you to work OT for free while also wanting you to report to work early or on time. - Lacking in room for new fresh ideas and often times expects you to "do accordingly" when it was proven to be outdated and unoriginal. - Turnover rate for this company is astoundingly high but not a shocker.

Pros

The sole advantage lies in its proximity to the MRT station. That all.

Cons

The boss will exert pressure on you up to the last minute. This workplace is undoubtedly the least conducive environment for creative individuals. Overtime is expected given the nature of the agency, but the insistence on working late, even when tasks are minimal, and the absence of overtime compensation make the situation untenable. Hiring juniors at low salaries while demanding managerial-level output is unjust, and the constant critique of errors without constructive guidance is demoralizing. The leadership lacks qualities of good leaders, preferring seclusion and blame-shifting over fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The absence of essential elements for fostering creativity, such as communication, brainstorming, adequate time, and a healthy environment, renders the demand for exceptional creativity nonsensical. Instead of encouraging open dialogue, corrections are made through incessant calls, contributing to a stressful and chaotic workplace. Despite producing commendable artwork, appreciation is conspicuously absent. The relentless pace, with minimal breaks except for a rigid one-hour lunchtime, leaves little room for rejuvenation. Despite the official working hours being from 9 am to 6 pm, if the boss notices you consistently leaving on time, she will begin to inquire about your punctuality. The management lacks compassion; even when faced with significant family issues, if you request to work from home, they will invariably find some reason to reject your request.

Ingrid Design Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns about our company on Glassdoor. We appreciate all feedback, positive or negative, as it helps us improve and address any misconceptions. However, we would like to clarify and provide a different perspective on some of the points mentioned in your review. Firstly, we would like to emphasize that our staff have the option to work from home (WFH) anytime they need to. We believe in providing a flexible work environment that promotes work-life balance. Contrary to what was suggested, most of our staff leave the office by 7:30pm, and it is rare for them to work late. Regarding compensation, we have a quarterly incentive program in place to acknowledge and reward staff who put in extra effort. This includes monetary rewards and other incentives based on their contributions. In fact, we have celebrated the dedication and loyalty of two designers who have been with Ingrid Design for over 10 years by providing them with $10,000 cash reward. Regarding your mention of pressure and the lack of a conducive creative environment, we understand that working in a creative field can be demanding at times. However, we strive to create an environment where collaboration and support are encouraged. Our leadership team actively fosters open dialogue and constructive feedback, providing guidance to help our staff grow professionally. We apologize if you felt that appreciation for artwork was lacking. We value the hard work and talent of our staff, and we actively encourage recognition and appreciation among team members. We will take this feedback into consideration and explore ways to enhance our recognition and appreciation programs. Regarding working hours and punctuality, our official working hours are from 9.30 to 6.30pm. While we appreciate and promote punctuality, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. We encourage our staff to communicate their situations transparently, and we believe in being understanding and compassionate to their personal needs. Asking our staff to stay and work late is definitely not our culture. We are sorry if any misunderstandings or miscommunications may have led to these negative perceptions. It is our goal to create a positive and motivating work environment for our team. We take this feedback seriously and will use it constructively to address areas of improvement within our company. Thank you once again for sharing your concerns. p/s: My record does not have a designer who has worked with Ingrid for more than 4 years and left.
