Pros

The clinical genetics team is passionate and dedicated, always aiming to provide top-notch service. The virtual work environment is supportive and collaborative, with approachable team leaders who prioritize both employee and customer satisfaction. My direct supervisor was organized, caring, and dedicated to her team. The IT team was quick and effective.

Cons

As a part-time worker, the workload (clinical and administrative) sometimes felt disproportionate to the compensation of the full time workers. However, the flexibility in my schedule and the time off made it worthwhile for the majority of the time.

Pros

The ability to work 100% remotely is one of the most substantial benefits for software engineers in particular. Having the flexibility to design your work environment and schedule contributes significantly to productivity and overall well-being.

Cons

Leadership and Management Concerns Direct management often lacked the necessary experience and interpersonal skills to foster a supportive and productive environment. This created unnecessary stress and avoidable conflict within teams. Employees who should have been empowered instead felt micromanaged or undervalued, which impacted morale and, at times, slowed down delivery. The gap between leadership’s strategic vision and the day-to-day experience of staff was noticeable, leading to frustration and disengagement.
