Some managers are young and inexperienced, and seem to have joined the company due to connections with upper management, and due to the work permit that would allow them to stay in the country. As they are not even Excel-literate, they would make the team do all their work for them, including finance and inventory reports that are to be submitted to the higher management, and take full credit for them. This has resulted in a lot of micromanagement and overworking concerns as their own managers are away most of the time and would not be aware of what goes on in the office. Overtime is often due to regular staff completing work on time, and they make you stay to help finish they work they cannot, or don't know how to complete. They would also send internal company documents to clients and attempt to make their team stay quiet about these matters without upper management's knowledge - even to the extent of providing excuses that other colleagues in the overseas offices made them do it, even though everyone were in the same calls together and did not have any idea of this ever happening. The manager would also not allow staff to utilise the office's facilities such as drinking water, and forces the team to pay for team lunches. They would also attempt to write up individuals under the guise of a post-probational team review if they think you are going to be a threat to their role of manager. With the support of the hiring team who are either inexperienced or out to take advantage of the situation, it seems like they can get away with a lot. It is not exactly a healthy work environment to be in.
