Pros
Friendly culture, nice people, work flexibility is great. The company operates in a fair flexible way with remote working for roles that allow it. Standards are high and work load can be also at points, but the flexibility can offset that. Being able to work fully remote locally is great, or from other locations on occasion when needed. Once you are producing and getting things done, the company doesn't mind. It's also a great environment to throw yourself into the deep end and gain experience as you go. You can really advance your career here by gaining more experience a lot quicker than you would at a larger company. Overall, if these pros fit you as a person and what you're looking for, it's a great opportunity.
Cons
Cons depend on you as a person, but as a smaller company, sometimes things can feel a little less structured. You need to be able to work well independently and within an environment that can become chaotic at times due to the place the company finds itself in the market. If you prefer this rather than over-structure and a lot of red tape to get things done, this isn't a con. Some benefits are good but others are can be unaffordable depending on your needs. Insurance plan is the only real concern.
Pros
some of the people are really nice. my new manager was really helpful and taught me a lot.
Cons
the biggest thing is theres just WAY too much going on at once and no real process for any of it. every initiative is happening at the same time and nobody actually knows whats going on, including the ppl who were there before me. i walked into a mess i didnt make, like invoices going back YEARS that no one could explain to me, and im the one expected to clean it up even tho im not accounting and i cant even cut a check?? also they want everything done like yesterday but these things take TIME, you cant just open a whole training operation overnight, it doesnt work like that. i got thrown into hiring instructors and negotiating contracts and ive literally never done that before with basically zero support, and then when i DID make a decision it didnt get approved, so its like ok well what am i even allowed to decide on then. at my old company (10 yrs there, very established place) we had actual full time instructors and a lead person who reviewed all the material. here im somehow expected to review technical presentations im not even qualified to review, and if somethings wrong thats on me apparently. and dont even get me started on relying on outside consultants for everything. we advertise services we cant even do in house, We’re happy to pay consultants the big bucks but refuse to pay our employers at market rate. If you work here, know that you’re being underpaid. we’d rather hire 3 underpaid people (sometimes even offshore contractors that cost Pennie’s) instead of hiring highly competent people at a high wave, who will produce much better results. like we tell clients we issue cards but were really just passing it to a guy who takes forever to respond and is running two companies, so were basically handing him our own business. accounting never responds either, i send follow up after follow up and nothing. its alot of “i dont know” from everybody and somehow it all lands on me.
