Pros
Great Pay, that is about it
Cons
Work life balance is the worst I have ever seen. Management was told years ago they need to hire people because of upcoming retirements. It takes about a year to be trained and they are just now hiring. Working swing shift 60-72 hours a week literally kills you. You feel terrible and exhausted all the time. Insurance is over $500 a month for a family, and copayments go up. Management doesn't care about the operators, as they expect you to work all the time, and if you get hurt because of exhaustion, the balme it on the employee. Pension was cut when BP sold and IVL bought it. Huge disconnect between people up front and the people who actually run the plant. No room to move up unless you have been there 20 years or are in the click.
