Pros

A great team of technicians and select few scientists.

Cons

Constantly shifting priorities, significant increase in work, and insignificant recognition/reward for putting up with it.

Pros

At InVivo, you get to work with cutting edge technologies and assays. My job is highly satisfying and I feel valued at the company. The office area is a dog friendly work environment and there are usually snacks provided by the company in the kitchen. InVivo has a diversity, equality, and inclusion initiative that all employees are trained on. InVivo has taken the pandemic seriously and I feel safe at work (everyone wears masks).

Cons

There is a hierarchical structure, but sometimes not enough direction from above. The job can be very fast paced and it is easy to get burned out if you allow yourself to.

Pros

I appreciated the tech team and scientists. There was a naturally collaborative environment with friendly people that made for a fairly pleasent work day. I also appreciated that the tech team managers tried to help accomplish our work goals. I also appreciated how mistakes were viewed as a learning opportunity for the most part.

Cons

The biggest downside for me was the chaotic nature of the place overall. Organization was fairly loose and solutions for mistakes were very hit or miss. Often times, suggestions for improvement were just adding unnecessary steps or complexity to a task. (human error mistakes would be solved by adding more steps that could introduce further human error). While somewhat understandable, since the company is small, the pay wasn't all that great and people with greater responsibility weren't always given wages that reflected that. There was also a level of deceit over how well the company was actually doing since layoffs recently occured.
