Pros

From the extra self-care hours, trauma informed training and practices, understanding and communicative supervisors, and flexible schedule, this is hands down the best place I've worked for.

Cons

Owning a car was required for my responsibilities, but you do get mileage reimbursement. The most difficult part of the job was not having enough resources or funding to fully provide for the needs of your client. Just like most of social work, you'll face the bitter reality of underfunding for both your clients and your own wage.

Pros

Good PTO, friendly coworkers, meaningful work.

Cons

Ableism, heavy-handed and top down leadership, micromanagement, performative activism, heavy work load, low compensation, discouraged from using PTO. Top heavy program structure with too many management positions and too few direct service staff.
