Image Postcard System

Is this your company?

Definitely not for everyone, but great place to start out. - Photographer Image Postcard System Employee Review

Pros

Working for Image Postcard, depending on your manager, is really autonomous to the point of being almost completely autonomous. Just show up, set up your station, take some pics, clean up, and go home. Compared to some other jobs, it's very simple technically, so really anyone can work it.

Cons

The photography jobs at IP are more server-type positions then photographer positions, which was mentioned in the job description but was definitely marketed as a "photographer" position. If you are looking to be a photographer in the traditional sense, this is not the place. Also, your manager can make or break your perspective of the job. Much of the structure is dependent on the manager and not the company, so how people get hired, payed, etc. is completely different for each manager.

Pros

Managers cared about well being and didn't treat us like we were expendable. Worked alone or with one other person.

Cons

Had commission opportunities but incredibly difficult to reach. Pressure to reach sales quotas.

Pros

pros are flexible schedule and that's about it.

Cons

the commission is good on paper until you read the fine prints, the more hours you get the less commission you get. it sounds good on paper until you realize you're only making 10 an hour and this means your paychecks on average coming out to pay $250 a week. this is not enough to live on, tips are not included in that but on average I was only getting about $20 a night on tips and that's 5 days a week. was still not a livable wage. and finally if there is a poor day even if it's because there's almost nobody at the restaurants, they may just decide to remove you off the schedule for already scheduled shifts. on top of the already low pay the risk of this does not make this job worth it.
