Pros

Extremely forgiving schedules and amicable coworkers blend together to create a gentle work atmosphere. As this job is what I would consider an internship, it pays well compared to other internships. Additionally, the supervision I had from my coworker Gabriel was impeccable, as he was patient and thorough in his instruction. The other coworkers, my manager, and our HR person were readily available to help me with any problems I had, and were also decent in social situations. On top of all this, I was able to work in this job at my own pace, hardly ever feeling like I was being pushed too much but also being productive enough to handle items that needed to be handled.

Cons

As far as cons go, I'd say the only thing that really bugged me was some of the imported materials we used were a little faulty at times.

Pros

I've been a "Sr. Library Digitization Specialist" (Account Executive) at Image Access, Inc. for the past 15 years. Our company distributes book scanners as well as other digitization hardware and software solutions; mainly to Public, Academic & Research Libraries and Museums, etc. throughout North America and parts of South America. The application specific Library software we've developed works in conjunction with any of the scanners we distribute. The software applications are: 1) Knowledge Imaging Center (KIC); student/patron self-service scanning systems that replace outmoded copiers 2) BSCAN ILL workflow; used by Interlibrary Loan dept. staff for digital (electronic) document delivery of patron requests and 3) Opus; production digitization software for staff use within Preservation, Archives and Special Collections departments. The 'pros' of working within this environment are too numerous to mention. Being part of a company that has constantly provided new digitization technology to Libraries is very rewarding. I and my associates enjoy coming to work each and every day!

Cons

None that I can think of...............
