1. I was worried about writing this review, that is the first con. Why? Because when I talked to a couple of current and former co-workers they told me that in the past that C-Suite tried to figure out who wrote the negative reviews. This made sense given my experiences at Ignite. And even if C-Suite never did that, the fact that people believe that they did, is a problem. It means people are afraid to say what they truly think because of retaliation. It's why I didn't put in my job title, I'd rather not be found by the process of elimination game. All of that is not okay and I would say that was one of the biggest problems during my experience there.
2. Watching my manager struggle with getting things done the way they should've been able to get them done was disheartening. My manager was constantly burned out and stressed because they and our team were not getting the support we needed. I know for a fact that my manager tried to get support and resources on multiple occasions but never got it. Maybe sometimes they would get an intern...which wasn't helpful at all.
3. The salaries are all over the place. I get that Ignite is a smaller agency but after comparing what I was being paid for my experience to other companies in the area, I was really surprised. Talking with other people in the company about how much they were paid was eye-opening and I know I wasn't being paid what I should've been. Hopefully, this pandemic has shown Ignite that having a fancy office and big parties aren't necessary for company culture or for getting new clients. Give that money to the staff that works for you and give them a better work/life balance instead of having to drive 45+ minutes every day there and back.
4. The training issues continue to be a problem, mostly because the people who can train their teams have no time to do so. The managers just don't have enough time to sit down with their teams to do ongoing training. Having a folder with copy and paste documents isn't considered training. Neither is having us listen to webinars that certain staff will give every once and a while. My team wanted to advance in their careers and learn the stuff that would actually give us the best chance at success for ourselves and our clients. We didn't want to listen to another Youtube video someone found online.
