Pros

People here are awesome. Great brands and good people. Pickleball Stocked fridges (sometimes) The products we sell are awesome and actually help people

Cons

IdealShape was a fantastic place to work until The Hut Group acquired it in 2016. The same day we were acquired, people were let go for no reason and no warning. Fast forward 7 months later and several changes later, I've learned one thing: THG is all about money. They won't spend any more than they have to on marketing and wonder why sales and acquisition are down. They are VERY numbers oriented which is great until reporting on numbers takes hours upon hours every week. Teams struggle because they are understaffed, people often do the work of 2-3 people. The original mission of IdealShape (transform and improve lives) seems to have been smothered by the new mission of numbers numbers numbers, make money make money make money. If it wasn't for the awesome people I would have left already. Oh and pay is average. I've been here over a year and they started someone at the same pay I had to work up to with the same qualifications. Not sure if that's sexism or just the nature of working for a new parent company. I feel like people are mostly just running around like a chicken with no head, so much to do but not enough time to do it, unless if you work 80 hours per week but some of us would still like to have a life.

Pros

Tons of great things to say about IdealShape: 1. Growth Opportunities: IdealShape is growing extremely fast which means people are being challenged constantly. Promotions can come with more responsibility and more money$$$ 2. Fun Culture: Pickleball, ping-pong, and a focus on fitness are just a few things that make the culture fun. The people make it the best! 3. Marketing: If you have an interest in marketing you will learn all about digital marketing and you will be able to apply it to multiple brands. 4. Change the World: This might sound corny but at IdealShape you have the opportunity to help people change their lives by taking control of their health and fitness. Nothing beats that. If you are passionate about health/fitness/marketing you won't sweat working the long hours. And you will have tons of fun.

Cons

With fast-growth comes a few cons: 1. Long hours: This can be seen as a pro and as a con but some people might not like the long hours that are sometimes required. This is also presented during the interview process so it is expected. (Definitely not just an 8-5 place to work) 2. Growing Pains: Due to the fast-paced environment people are promoted quickly and processes change. This means things don't always run as smoothly and can create problems.
