Pros

Great location, nice office, nice hard working people, decent salary, snacks, good product

Cons

Poor culture (founders are very insular), passive aggressive leadership (CEO puts up pictures of dirty diapers in break room with text "this isn't your dirty diaper pail" - VP tells employees they are hiring others for their positions), lack of honesty in compensation plans (cannot calculate variable pay properly which is ironic because that is their business and they don't use their own software to do it). Some unprofessional management behavior and poor communication (CEO discourages people from talking to one another and consultants are discouraged from talking to Engineering about product even though product documentation has not been written for six years), not much product training for consultants. Lots of hiring and firing with staff going from 30 to 70 then down to 40 and now back up to 80. Lot of turnover in Sales staff, ran off some good people. Burning through lots of cash.

Iconixx Response

Dear former employee, I agree with you that there are fantastic people at Iconixx and a lot of good work has happened since you left. We rolled out a training program in July. Customers and employees who have attended the 4 day class have raved about it. Customer comments include "the most beneficial, interactive training I have ever attended for any product." We updated the admin guide since you left. It is not only extremely detailed and easily searchable, it is available within the Iconixx solution for consultants and customers to access. Back in July, we also hired a Chief Revenue Officer and just closed our best quarter ever. Given the high levels of participation, I believe that most of our employees enjoy the Friday lunches and company game nights. About 75% of the local employees signed up to run as an Iconixx team for the Cap Tex 10K and the Halloween decorating contest is in full swing. Of course, we have areas to continue to improve, but we are dedicated to our fantastic employees!

Pros

We solve a complex and interesting business problem, we have great technology and the best solution on the market, and the team is phenomenal. There is a culture of teamwork from top to bottom. Nobody, starting with the CEO and permeating throughout the organization, hesitates to roll up their sleeves, get in the weeds and help solve problems. Everybody is welcome to and even expected to contribute thoughts and ideas to help the company grow and excel. Management is truly committed to trying to find the right balance between pushing for aggressive company growth and making sure the employees have rewarding and fulfilling professional and personal lives. Senior leadership is absolutely top notch.

Cons

Finding that professional/personal balance is a challenge in any environment and Iconixx is no exception. The pace is energetic and frantic and that can be exciting but also exhausting. In the name of efficiency the company is erring on the side of running a bit too lean, and maintaining a healthy level of resourcing has been elusive.
