Pros
Overtime - paid lunch - hybrid schedule - 20 days PTO when you start
Cons
I had a very disappointing experience working at IceMiller, particularly in the IT department. During the interview, they misled me about bonuses, promising significant compensation, but in reality, the bonus amounts to only $50 to $100, and even that comes from the company, not the IT department. They also misrepresented my salary, claiming that overtime would cover part of my base salary, which didn’t make any sense and lacked transparency.
When I was hired, they also misled me about my duties and responsibilities. After starting, I was downgraded to tasks far below what I was led to believe I would be handling. If I had known this from the start, I would have stayed at my previous firm where I had opportunities for growth and advancement.
Opportunities for learning at IceMiller are practically non-existent. Most of the work revolves around basic AV support, with no real chance to develop new skills. They’re also planning to outsource the entire IT department to save money, as the firm has been losing money, which contributes to the high turnover rate.
One other frustrating aspect is their lunch policy. While they offer to pay for your lunch, they expect you to remain at your desk, take calls, and handle local support while eating.
I strongly recommend doing your research and reaching out to former employees before joining IceMiller. Ask them about their experiences with the company and the department, as my time there was filled with broken promises, a lack of transparency, and missed opportunities for advancement.
