Pros

ITW will have other divisions that are profitable and successful. Unfortunately, Appliance isn't.

Cons

What you will encounter here is nothing like I've experienced in my career. Favoritism, high turnover, unethical practices, push for workforce reduction, extreme lack of investment ... you name it. Seriously, running so lean that every day you're putting out fires. Management is not only OK with this, but actually sets expectations of "do whatever it takes to get it done" with no training. If you fail to hit that standard (which you're bound to fail), you'll get pushed out the door. All while other employees are put on a pedestal, when in reality, they delegate all their work to others. Again, management turns a blind eye on these people because they fit to a certain agenda. Very sad to see what used to be a successful business, has taken a huge toll due to poor management decisions over the last couple of years.

Pros

Great co-workers; smart people who are dedicated to doing good work. There is a general kindness and everyone seems willing to help each other.

Cons

The pay is low, and everyone seems stretched thin. There is little structure to ensure local leaders follow good practices. Evaluation of performance tends to be highly subjective. There seems to be very little management of the management.
