Pros

- Career Development - Bonuses for certifications - Reimbursement for professional training (books, cert exams, ect.) - Work from home, or work from the office (really awesome in less than perfect weather) - Plenty of fun opportunities in and outside of working hours - Good work/life balance - Management is very hand's off and focused on providing inspiration and big picture plans (not focused on micromanaging everything) - Great company values - Benefits options offered are really awesome for a company of this size. Five plan options for health coverage, dental, vision, LTD, STD, Life, 401k match, and cell phone allowance are available. Worked for a short time as a member of the junior/associate program before moving on to a new position. Learned A LOT, and had the opportunity to work with some really awesome and intelligent people. Management is working hard to ensure the long term stability of the company, and is doing well Management is also receptive to feedback from employees.

Cons

- Constant updates about the precise status of the business can be troubling sometimes if you're not fully educated on business processes. - It is very difficult to be a long term employee if you aren't constantly learning new skills and creating value for the company. - If you're a more social person at work, it can make things a bit lonely as a remote worker (non Grand Rapids natives). This is less of a con for the "lone wolves"

Pros

I worked at ITS Partners for over 3 years and it was a great experience for me. ITS is a consulting company that I felt had great values and tried its very best to make work / life balance a priority. When it was time for me to move to another opportunity with another company, they very much impressed me with the understanding that it was the best thing for me and my family, which I am still very grateful for. They also allow consultants while traveling to use their own hotel and airline loyalty accounts and it was a great perk and good way to gain airline/hotel status pretty quickly. I always felt that it was a very family like environment and that the leadership had my best interest at heart, both professionally and personally.

Cons

For consultants, travel is required however they made it very clear up front in interviews, etc. so that it was not a surprise for me and on multiple occasions upper management would check in to make sure I wasn't getting burned out and offered to provide some time off the road if needed. It is the nature of the business sometimes and just something you have to be accepting of going in to it. If you are a remote employee it is sometimes easy to get in your own "bubble" so you will need to take initiative to collaborate with other remote employees and those that come in to the office, but honestly that is the case anywhere. It is one of the those things that comes with working remotely.
