Pros

It aint the pay or benefits, that's for sure. Work from home is nice. Some coworkers are genuine and nice. HR has intelligence and are very nice. Middle management, and many (older) workers who've been with the company for several years should have some weight for advice, but it is thwarted by incompetence.

Cons

Founders have no direction, micromanagers. Upper management have a theme for folks when they quit and ask: "why are you leaving, do you have any advice for us?" Response is always the same, yes listen to your employees, take in their suggestions. Doesn't listen to the customer for what they want. Overpromising things. The business management side is careless, doesn't care for customers. Case in point, the Founders would take meetings in a McDonalds and you can hear children screaming in the background and leaves the microphone open. It is legit chaos, and unprofessional. Founders doesn't listen to anything that anyone says and pretends to understand what the system can or cannot do. Upper management will take no responsibility for decisions. No promotions. If they have any at all, it's picking favorites, and frankly doesn't consist of contributions. Some people have worked there for more than 4 years with nothing. Some have worked for 3 years without a salary increase. No, that's not a joke. Every year or 1.5 years, 30% of the company leaves. Either overworked or broken promises. It is a cast system here. If you don't have a PhD you aren't worth talking to here. The researches don't produce anything either, they sit around drinking tea and act better than everyone else who is working frantically to make anything work, or test anything. No one does real code reviews here. They push stuff and break stuff constantly. Everyone is in denial. No 401k match. No annual bonuses. No stock, they'll throw like 500 at you. Which wont lead to anything.

Thank you for your feedback, we greatly appreciate it. We're sorry you've had such an unfortunate experience during your tenure. We're working on several key initiatives this year, including hiring key senior leadership roles, creating a customer-centric internal model to operate from, and implementing a People team led, objective semi-annual approach to evaluate compensation and promotion opportunities. It's our hope this shifts the overall employee experience going forward as we continue to build and grow. Thank you for your contributions while you were with us and we wish you the best!

Pros

* Open and transparent leadership. * Management is friendly, approachable, and focused on the long-term goals. * The company is avoiding lavish expenses and overpriced real estate while in startup mode. * The staff is friendly and supportive. * Everyone is willing to lend a hand, and I've never heard anyone say, "That's not my job." * There's a lot of work, but I'm enjoying it and working with great people and new and innovative technology. * The company supports remote workers for many jobs.

Cons

The only con--and this is not the company's fault--is that it takes a long time for me to travel to the home office for my occasional visits from where I live on the left coast. Over 98% of my work can be done remotely, though.
