Pros

ISE are a cut above the rest when it comes to recruitment. They have an amazing client base which demands high calibre recruiters, and I am genuinely proud that I worked for nearly 2 years at such a highly reputable recruitment boutique. The culture at ISE is one of autonomy in terms of organising and planning your daily activities, but there is a lot of support just by nature of senior management being involved in actual recruitment activities as well as running the business. With everyone sitting together in a close knit environment, it means that ideas for good client/candidate matches are easy to discuss and bounce around with each other. There is a strong sense that the ISE family really want to enable each other to succeed. I would not have left were it not to pursue further education - before ISE I worked a typical recruitment company where you're promised the world but frankly find yourself amongst sharks, and I can safely say ISE is nothing like that. As well as developing a lot as a professional at ISE, I made lasting friendships and love to go back to catch up with the team.

Cons

I felt that the commission structure wasn't the best when I was there unless you were really bringing in a lot of business, however I know that there is now a very rewarding structure in place. One style of recruitment that works in the short term is to fling stuff at a wall and hope that it sticks - that will not work at ISE, so if that's your style, best to go elsewhere!
