Pros

For fresh graduates you may get some useful experience in a big corporate environment. For those being taken over, you may be lucky enough to be made redundant and have some sort of severance package 💸! If you don't get made redundant, unfortunately you'll be slowly managed out and replaced with off shore fungible/generic resources. This will give you much experience training up your new replacements✅! There are islands of good people who are still left or trapped - The day to day workers on and off shore are still good humans.

Cons

Expect to be given the worst tasks and treated poorly, under the guise of learning 'leadership' - You will likely burn out 🔥 before any tangible benefits to your career. If you're being taken over by ION, ensure to update your CV and get looking - no matter what is promised it will inevitably result in 'cost savings' and mass redundancy 🎯 - This is a cycle well repeated with numerous aquisitions ♻. The middle management is dire and seeking to keep their roles as long as possible; you'll often see mad panics prior to any meeting with the senior mgmt/board. This results more often than not in expected all nighters and 'just get it done' attitude, usually cutting corners.

Pros

I get to work from home and have a grand-fathered in unlimited PTO policy. And that's about it.

Cons

RUN. This is just a horrible company to work for. Either you are living in constant fear of being fired or you are so overworked you feel like you have to work 60 hours a week just to do the bare minimum. The CEO, Andrea, is just gutting everything, doing mass layoffs over and over again. He has no clear visit for the company, goal posts keep changing, and everyone is setup to fail.
