Pros

Very clear attendance expectations - you’ll always know where you stand (and where you should be). Strong culture of discipline and compliance. Exposure to legacy systems and traditional operating models. Close managerial involvement ensures consistent monitoring and feedback. Builds character, endurance, and an appreciation for modern workplace flexibility elsewhere.

Cons

Work-life balance reflects startup-level intensity, while career progression follows a more traditional pace. Policies are centralized and strictly enforced, and job stability has felt uncertain following recent workforce reductions. A strict 9-hour daily attendance requirement is in place. Missing the threshold triggers formal HR communications that not only sound rude but showcase the lack of trust on employees. Strategic direction is not always clearly communicated, particularly within the India organization. Decision-making is concentrated, and managerial oversight is high. Strong focus on tracking, presentations, and status reporting. Engineering management appears more operations-driven than engineering-driven, increasing time spent on PPTs, Excel, and meetings. Performance evaluations and bonus outcomes do not consistently feel aligned with individual contribution, and appraisal timelines are occasionally delayed. The technology stack is largely legacy-based and opaque. AI adoption is encouraged, but no clear policy has been communicated yet, and restrictions on external tools combined with incompetent internal solutions limit practical impact.

Pros

Great view from the NYC office. Had a great team which is why I stayed so long (over 12 years).

Cons

No direction, no transparency, no communication from leadership, bonuses cut, and now mass layoffs.
