The sheer incompetence I have witnessed in my time here is unfathomable. I have never been a part of such a toxic environment in which no one suffers repercussions for their actions. The bullying and harassment is like nothing I have seen before. People who believe they have authority over you use their seniority as a way of belittling their coworkers despite being on the same level. Working here truly feels like being back in high school with all of the gossiping, rumours, bullying - it’s exhausting. I truly never thought a workplace could make me as miserable as IGA does. I had heard it wasn’t the best place to work but never in my wildest dreams did I believe it could be as terrible as it has proven itself to be. We’ve gone through 4 managers in my department in the space of a year, the next as useless as the last. I walk in to every shift praying that I get cut early, praying that certain coworkers don’t drop by for a surprise shift, praying that the misery will finally end.
