      Pros

      Good benefits, compared to industry standards. Same for salary. Some learning opportunities. Relocation possible globally (for a small a number of highly specialized individuals). Great global network.

      Cons

      Promotions are based on time spend within the company, rather than skills or individual contributions. Most middle managers are great in their field of work, though many of them, unfortunately lack people and/or leading skills.

      No room to move up, though you’re encouraged to grow your skillset Very few hiring opportunities, no backfilling of positions In order to move up, you must show you can perform at that next level, while still doing your current job Very few promotion cycles (1-2/yr) Ineffective management Recent layoffs (2025-2016)
