      Pros

      Very stable job with good work life balance and benefits. Exposure to a lot of different industries, at least on a surface level.

      Cons

      Red tape on everything makes it feel like you have very little independence and autonomy to make your own decisions. A lot of practices are outdated as well, many aspects of the role could be done more efficiently but the slow rate of change in government prevents that.

      New leadership is good. Hiring a lot of people. Excellent insurance Good work life balance Somewhat flexible schedule

      Cons

      Bureaucracy, as should be expected. New hires come in thinking it will be high tech here and It’s not. It’s public service, expectations should be measured. Not a ton of money for tech like in private sector. Understaffed
