Pros

The flexible work life balance is great, you can come into work at whatever time you want, spend as much time online shopping as you want and take longer lunch breaks if you feel like it. The work is easy and there's never enough to keep you busy all day, so you will never have to do overtime or work passed 5:30pm, making the pay value for money! Bonus targets are really easy to achieve and you get an extra day off for your birthday. There are lots of nice places nearby to meet friends for lunch or after work (but avoid the places that Hotcourses staff go unless you want to be pestered by one of the many drug fueled desperado stalkers that work there, when they should be appearing on The Undateables).

Cons

When you start they will tell you they are passionate about Education and #neverstoplearning. The people who did my inductions were very passionate too, but most of them have now left and taken the passion with them.... that's probably because the company don't look after good staff. They make no effort to keep people, and people are just disposable. My manager never let me do one learning course or helped me develop any skills at Hotcourses, which really disadvantaged me in job interviews. And this was really unfair, because other people seem to go on courses whenever they want. If you are one of the chosen, you can get a promotion via incest or being one of the pretties. Otherwise, you can switch on brat mode and those that kick up enough fuss and cry loudly usually get what they want, including promotions. Some reviews say Hotcourses is racist, but in fact there's a huge mix of race and culture in the office and they are not racist, they are just generally all round horrid people trying to win a popularity contest. If you work in Sales or on Whatuni you will be in line for employee of the month, which is ironic because the only time the sales team actually sell is in July and I'm not sure some of the two faced whatuni team actually count as people. The products are quickly becoming behind the competition and it's not surprising when it takes a year to get one app released. You get £200 to spend on a course, but good luck finding a course on the infuriating search of not many courses compared to competitors. They have really low expectations across the board. There is constant belittlement and gossiping. Even if you are an expert in your field, which is ironic as staff generally don't have many expertise. They think that working in a company for 10 years means you should be senior management regardless of if you know what you're doing! Many of these people would not survive working elsewhere. Oh and the office has rats because the staff are incapable of keeping food in containers.
