Pros
There let you move to different functions. I have seen people move from commercials to networks, networks to marketing, service delivery to marketing, marketing to sales, sales to marketing, service delivery to sales etc. They value employees and give chances whenever they could.
Cons
Hierarchical. Some functions have very strict bosses who have been there for so long who cant connect with the current day world and so sometimes feels like a government office. People running behind black belt, green belt etc. which were created with a good intention. However, since there are targets, people do projects for name sake, repeat old projects and even the senior leaders who are supposed to stop this go with it as they just want numbers.
