Pros

Really meaningful work with a strong focus on making a difference for real people. Lots of opportunity for growth and development internally, if you are able to flex. Complex projects and interesting workload, no two days are the same so you need to be adaptable and develop your wider skills. But very rewarding!

Cons

Can be fast paced, sometimes lots of change so need to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the business.

Pros

A genuinely rewarding place to work with a strong sense of purpose. What stands out most about ICE Creates is the people. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and built around shared values, with everyone working towards making a positive impact for communities, organisations, and individuals. There is a real emphasis on creativity, innovation, and continuous learning, which makes the work both meaningful and engaging. The organisation genuinely cares about wellbeing, personal growth, and creating an environment where people feel valued and heard. It’s refreshing to work somewhere that combines ambitious goals with a people-first approach. Pros: Supportive and friendly team Meaningful, purpose-driven work Opportunities for growth and development Collaborative and creative culture Leadership that encourages innovation

Cons

As with any fast-paced organisation, priorities can occasionally shift quickly, but this also creates opportunities to learn and adapt.

Pros

The main positive is the dedicated and committed people. Projects are often interesting and the work has value and impact.

Cons

There is a consistently high staff turnover, which creates instability across teams. Progression is unclear and is promised rather than delivered. Career development opportunities are limited and pay is below market rate. There is little meaningful investment in training or development, making progression within the role difficult. Work-life balance is poor. You are commonly expected to work beyond contracted hours without compensation or acknowledgement. The “fast-paced environment” is normalised and treated as a measure of individual capability. Emphasis is placed on coping rather than questioning whether the pace is appropriate, which reinforces reactive and disorganised working as standard practice. Senior leadership operate in a highly reactive way. Frequent last minute changes create unclear direction and unrealistic delivery expectations. This contributes directly to workload instability and pressure on teams.

I’ll be honest - I have complicated feelings about this review. Yes, these reviews are a place where people who’ve left organisations can share their experience. And some of the feedback is genuinely valuable. We should all be held to account. But here’s what saddens me. We are a B Corp. Our culture has been independently assessed by not one, not two, but three external organisations. We invite scrutiny. We want to be challenged. That’s what “Make Better Happen” actually means - starting with ourselves. So when someone leaves a 1-star review anonymously, with criticism they never raised while they were here, I don’t feel angry. I feel sad. Not because of the review. But because somewhere along the way, that person didn’t feel safe enough or brave enough, to say it to our faces. And if that’s true, that’s on us to understand. What I’d gently push back on is this: anonymous feedback, weighted heavily by an algorithm that privileges negativity, isn’t the same as honest feedback. It’s a one-way conversation with no possibility of growth for either party. Real courage is saying the difficult thing while you’re still in the room.
