Pros

Absolutely none. You’re hired to do one job with a clearly defined scope, but within a month the expectations expand far beyond the original role. Responsibilities quickly grow to cover the work of multiple positions, often without additional support, resources, or adjustment in compensation. What begins as a focused role turns into managing several unrelated functions at once, making it difficult to maintain quality and focus on the work you were originally brought in to do.

Cons

One major drawback is the rapid expansion of responsibilities beyond the role you were hired to perform. The position may begin with a clear scope, but within a short period the expectations grow significantly, often covering the responsibilities of several different roles. This can create an environment where priorities constantly shift and it becomes difficult to focus on executing any one function at a high level. Another challenge is the lack of adequate support and resources to manage the increased workload. When multiple roles are effectively combined into one position, the volume and complexity of work can become difficult to sustain long term. Without additional team support, clear structure, or realistic expectations, the workload can quickly lead to inefficiencies and make it harder to produce consistent, high-quality results.
