Pros

Colleagues are friendly and the other consultants were a good bunch. Offer an ok salary with good earning potential in commission.

Cons

Not a good option for a grad or trainee consultant. No structured training, the majority of managers had no management training just consultants that worked their way up. Team leads/managers speaking rudely to you, they got annoyed if you asked questions, you are expected in a short amount of time to pick up 360 recruitment and if you dont you are fired. You get put on a desk and thrown in the deep end as it felt the team leaders were too busy to train you and if you needed their time you are a burden. The advice is to call candidates and ask questions to work out a technical market on your own - no wonder recruiters get a bad rep!

Thanks for your review. We take all feedback, positive and negative, very seriously. At IC Resources, we feel it’s important to have clear career progression routes for all our consultants, as our staff retention rate proves. It’s unfortunate that you found the environment wasn’t good for a grad or trainee – because, as you rightly pointed out, most of our seniors, team leaders and managers have all worked their way up via this route. Also, we do make a point of not ‘micro-managing’ so that everyone feels autonomous in their individual roles and can shape their futures as they want. This works incredibly successfully for us, but we do appreciate it isn’t right for everyone. It is a shame that we didn’t get to discuss these things with you before you left. Thanks again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. Our commission and salary structure is intentionally designed to reward high performance. We focus on recognising and rewarding excellence, which is why commission can be earned quickly and is market leading. That said, we regularly review base salaries to ensure we remain competitive. Following our most recent annual appraisals, the majority of our sales team received base salary increases in line with the market, alongside further enhancements to an already strong commission structure – and in some cases, both. In terms of working arrangements, trust is built over time. While we do promote office working (driving faster learning, collaboration and higher performance through real-time support, shared momentum and direct access to leadership) flexible and remote working is very much available where it supports productivity and performance. In fact, three of our top performers in 2025 work remotely for the majority of their time. Our approach is about ensuring flexibility works for both the individual and the wider business. We are always open to feedback and we genuinely value hearing different perspectives. Listening, adapting and investing in our people remains a key priority for us.
