Pros

CEO and owner Peter Kellogg are AMAZING! They are very down to earth human beings. Benefits, PTO, and bonuses/ incentives are the highest I ever had. They are pretty transparent with how the company is doing. They genuinely care for their employees in a general sense. They do listen to almost 100% of the feedback they receive, and Bill Cunningham is very helpful when you raise an issue.

Cons

You don't see minorities being promoted at all. There's a ridiculous amount of favoritism. The people the managers like get less work, promoted more often and large raises as well as special project opportunities. This leaves the less desirable employees getting extra work. HR sweeps all the complaints under the rug and tell you it's you, not them. If you complain too much, or are too assertive you will find yourself on a plan and fired. All this hostility started after they welcomed the new COO. It was such a good company to work for before that specific change. There were a lot of upper management turnaround, but it was very manageable because you felt like you were part of a team and you mattered.

Thank you for your feedback. Both IAT’s owner Peter Kellogg and CEO Bill Cunningham share the belief that if you treat your employees right, they will take care of the company. As you know, they follow through on that promise daily. We strongly believe that diversity – more people with different perspectives - helps us make better decisions. We encourage and support the advancement of our employees regardless of race, gender, etc. Over the last 24 months, the diversity (including on the basis of gender, ethnic backgrounds, education and generations/age range) of our middle management and senior management teams has increased. We have implemented recruitment strategies to help us increase our attraction rate of more diverse candidates and we are offering diversity training through our IAT University program. We’re concerned that you felt a disconnect from other senior management and HR. We want employees to not just feel comfortable voicing their concerns but know that HR will absolutely take their feedback to heart, work to understand the situation and assess what steps can be taken to improve it. Likewise, we expect the same from our managers. We will ensure this is happening at all levels of the organization consistently. Again, thank you for sharing your views. Pros

Extremely generous 401k match, great amount of PTO (even as a new employee), College Loan Payment Assistance (Yes, you read that right! It's unique and amazing). Days are busy with engaging and interesting work but hours are typically fairly regular, leaving sufficient time and personal capacity to fully enjoy my life outside of work - great balance which is one of the things I enjoy most about working at IAT! Most of claims is now on one amazing claim system - state of the art! Fantastic progress vs. just a few years ago when IAT claims was working in numerous outdated, difficult systems.

Cons

Small company which can feel a bit limiting in terms of career path. However, IAT really leverages every opportunity to help employees have their desired careers, switch lines of business, etc. Small down side relative to the many advantages of working for IAT.
